Technology, Employment, and the Business Cycle: Do Technology Shocks Explain Aggregate Fluctuations? Comment
The neoclassical e®ects of permanent technology shocks on employment is re-investigated. متن کاملTracking Employment Shocks Using Mobile Phone Data
Can data from mobile phones be used to observe economic shocks and their consequences at multiple scales? Here we present novel methods to detect mass layoffs, identify individuals affected by them and predict changes in aggregate unemployment rates using call detail records (CDRs) from mobile phones. Using the closure of a large manufacturing plant as a case study, we first describe a structur...
متن کاملMonetary models and technology shocks
Adding variable capital utilisation to a dynamic new Keynesian framework gives a model which can produce realistic responses to both technology and monetary shocks. This requires the assumption of a much lower level of nominal rigidity than is usual.

We identify firms with high growth opportunities based on the covariance of their stock returns with the investment-specific productivity...
